The National Capital Authority (NCA) manages the Australian Government's continuing interest in the planning, promotion, enhancement and maintenance of Canberra as the nation's capital, on behalf of all Australians.
A national capital embodies the values, culture and stories of the nation. The NCA is working to create a place which symbolises the essence of Australia, where all Australians feel welcome and have a sense of ownership.
We intend to realise the promise of the city plan and the ideals of the founders through our strategic blueprint for the future planning of Canberra The Griffin Legacy.

Inquiry into the role of the National Capital Authority
The Joint Standing Committee on the National Capital and External Territories has presented its report on the role of the National Capital Authority. Titled The Way Forward, the report endorses the need for a continuing and enduring Commonwealth commitment to the national capital.
Draft Development Control Plans: 171/08/0002 and 171/08/0003
The development Control Plan No. 171/08/0002 and No. 171/08/0002 has been prepared to establish planning and urban design provisions including building height, environment and heritage considerations, landscaping, vehicular access and car parking.
Yarralumla Bay Recreation Hub Master Plan - Information Session
The National Capital Authority has scheduled a second information session to gather feedback in the development of a master plan for the Yarralumla Bay Recreation Hub.
