Description of program
In ‘A home for the Workers,’ students will move between two sections within the Cottage and an outdoor activity (which will be teacher-led). Each will take approximately 15 minutes.
Bus drop off
There is no designated bus parking at the Cottage. Buses should enter Wendouree Drive via Constitution Avenue, and drop students on the left in front of the Cottage carpark. Buses will then need to go to the end of Wendouree Drive near the National Carillon, to turn in the turning circle before returning to collect the children. There are limited carparks available for additional vehicles.
Procedure if also going to NCE
Bookings at Blundells and the National Capital Exhibition can be made for the same day. Generally bookings are made with 1 hour between, to enable groups to stop for a snack/lunch, and also to allow walking time between the two sites (approximately 20 minutes for small children
For each group of ten students, one adult supervisor (teacher or parent) is required to accompany that group at all times.
There is limited undercover space in the event of wet weather.
The Home for the Workers education program involves an outdoor, teacher/parent led, activity. In wet weather students can gather on the veranda for this component.
In extreme weather, due to the size of the Cottage, it is suggested rescheduling your visit.
